Our Craft Gallery is located in what was once a working dairy (built by the current owners in 1978). The pit (or work area) of the old dairy is now a fishpond, complete with greenery and fountain.
Surrounding the pond is art and ceramics by well-known West Australian artist Wendy Binks (a member of the family!). Wendy’s unique style incorporates hand-thrown ceramics with hand painted Australian animals and her “Stunned Emu Designs” range of mugs, magnets, gift cards and framed prints are very popular. We also have a selection of her original oil and gouache paintings.
Wendy has recently published her third childrens book - "Invisible Me" another Stripey adventure after her first two hugely successful books "Where's Stripey" (2005) and "Scrambled Egg" (2007). Wendy has also published an activity book to complement these.
DOUBLE WINNER: "Where's Stripey" won the WA Premier's book award for best Childrens book and and also the Children’s and Young Adults Section of the Wild and Woolley Best Independently published Australian Books. "Scrambled Egg" was shortlisted for the WA Premier's Book award.
If you would like to purchase a copy of Wendy's books, please contact us by email, fax, phone or post - price $16each plus postage.
Wendy has a stall at the Fremantle Markets and a gallery in central Freo (next to the Sail & Anchor hotel) - See more of her work there! Click here to take a look at more Stunned Emu Designs.
Our gallery also has Santalia products, jewellery, window decals, woodcraft, soft toys, souvenir tea-towels, t-shirts, spoons, magnets, caps, and more.
